“We are dismayed that CMS does not propose relief from unrealistic and unachievable Stage 3 reporting requirements that begin on Jan. 1, 2018.”
This was a statement that was released by the American Hospital Association (AHA) in response to a recent payment rule from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The rule proposed that the reporting requirements of Stage 3 of the meaningful use program (MU3) would not change. In addition, the last stage of the federal program is on track to commence on Jan. 1, 2018 – as originally proposed.
For many months, the AHA has been lobbying CMS to further reduce burdens associated with MU3, reinforcing how hospital systems are incredibly challenged with meeting these requirements. Based on the new CMS rule, it seems that these lobbying efforts did not create the desired outcome for hospital systems.
Hospital systems will now need to act very quickly to meet these requirements in time for the deadline. This will be no small task, as the requirements are cumbersome and complex.
However, there is some good news, and perhaps relief in sight for hospitals.
When it comes to meeting the challenging MU3 information exchange attestation and objectives, RosettaHealth has a new solution. The RosettaHealth EasyExchange Solution provides hospital systems with a simple, all-in- one solution to meet these particular MU3 requirements.
With one standard connection into a hospital’s EHR, EasyExchange helps meet all the MU3 information exchange requirements including coordination of care, secure messaging, patient portals and API access, and much more. It also reduces problems with delays and efforts to integrate different systems, and minimizes incremental fees from vendors for each new connection, and ensures no more incompatibilities in exchanging data.
The path to MU3 compliance no longer needs to be burdensome!
